Why LAPD is writing less speeding tickets

Why LAPD is writing less speeding tickets. –  blog submitted by ticketbust.com, helping drivers contest and dismiss their traffic tickets.

California traffic law requires local roads to have periodic speed surveys to make sure speed limits aren’t set too low. If the surveys aren’t done or the speed limit is too low, then fancy speed guns can’t be used.  Why is this a problem for LAPD? As LAPD officer Troy Williams recently explained to Los Angeles City Council Transportation Committee, most streets in LA have expired speed surveys. LAPD’s use of speed guns has been curtailed by this and according to Williams, the number of speeding tickets has gone down from 99,000 speeding tickets in 2010 to just 16,000 in 2015. –  blog submitted by ticketbust.com, helping drivers fight their traffic tickets.

Another step towards helping drivers plagued by high traffic ticket fines

Another step towards helping drivers plagued by high traffic ticket fines. blog submitted by ticketbust.com, helping drivers contest and dismiss their traffic tickets.  Last year, ticketed drivers got a break when legislation was implemented to let drivers contest tickets in court without first having to pay the fine. Not to mention there was Gov. Jerry Brown’s amnesty program which gave people the chance to reduce their ticket debts. The latest could-be-win for California drivers?  A bill by state Sen. Bob Hertzberg that would stop the automatic suspension of driver’s licenses of people who fail to pay traffic fines or fail to appear in court for traffic violations, was approved and is on its way to the Assembly. This new bill would also require the DMV to restore driving privileges for hundreds-of-thousands who have already lost them for failing to pay a ticket or appear in court. –  blog submitted by ticketbust.com, helping drivers contest and dismiss their traffic tickets.

This city has decided to give drivers a break from red light camera ticketing

This city has decided to give drivers a break from red light camera ticketing. blog submitted by ticketbust.com, helping drivers contest and dismiss their traffic tickets.

The City of Marysville has joined more than sixty other California cities that have ended red light camera ticketing.

Many cities cite difficulty generating a guaranteed profit, and stable or reduced collision rates at intersections where cameras have been turned off, as reasons for parting ways with red light camera companies like Red Flex.

If you get a red light camera ticket in a city where you think the cameras are turned off, it could be a fake. A courthouse and due date on the ticket are signs that it’s genuine. –  blog submitted by ticketbust.com, helping drivers contest and dismiss their traffic tickets.

Why driving too slow can be just as bad as going too fast

Why driving too slow can be just as bad as going too fast –  blog submitted by ticketbust.com, helping drivers contest and dismiss their traffic tickets.

If you’ve ever driven on a busy California freeway at 65 mph you probably were just about run off the road.

While it’s rare for a driver to be ticketed for driving too slow, it happens. Tickets for impeding traffic carry the same penalties as speeding: a couple hundred dollars fine and a negative mark on your driver record.

To avoid this ticket a good rule of thumb is to go with the flow of traffic, unless traffic is flowing above the legal limit, in which case you should move over to the right. –  blog submitted by ticketbust.com, helping drivers fight their traffic tickets.

Why you are more likely to get a ticket this month

Why you are more likely to get a ticket this month. –  blog submitted by ticketbust.com, helping drivers contest and dismiss their traffic tickets.

According to the California Department of Motor Vehicles, the number of motorcyclists on the road increases in the spring and summer.

Since the CHP will be putting an emphasis on motorcycle safety this month, drivers should watch out for motorcycles hiding in blind spots and share the road to avoid getting pulled over.

To reduce chances of a ticket or collision, motorcyclists should always use signals when changing lanes and wear protective gear, including a proper helmet. –  blog submitted by ticketbust.com, helping drivers contest and dismiss their traffic tickets.

Why you are more likely to get a cell phone ticket during the month of April.

Why you are more likely to get a cell phone ticket during the month of April. –  blog submitted by ticketbust.com, helping drivers contest and dismiss their traffic tickets.

This month is all about distracted driving. Or should we say it’s about not driving distracted.

The Department of Transportation notes at any given moment during the day in 2014, hundreds of thousands of vehicles were being driven by someone using a hand-held cell phone, according to the CHP.

During “Distracted Driver Awareness Month,” drivers caught texting or using their mobile devices when behind the wheel will be issued citations. Specifically, the CHP warns that April 7 and 20 will be zero tolerance days, when all agencies will be especially vigilant for distracted drivers. –  blog submitted by ticketbust.com, helping drivers contest and dismiss their traffic tickets.

How much is too much for a Red Light Camera ticket fine?

A San Mateo state senator is making an effort to bring down the fines for “rolling right” red light camera violations to something that low-income people can afford.

According the SF Gate.com, Sen. Jerry Hill thinks that although red light camera have a safety value, the current punishment for the slow, rolling right-hand turns doesn’t fit the crime. He introduced legislation last week that would cut the $500 fine in half.

To avoid a red light camera turning violation in the first place, remember to stop fully behind that limit line before turning right, even when there is no oncoming traffic. – Blog submitted by ticketbust.com, helping drivers contest and dismiss their traffic tickets.

Is your car a ticket magnet?

Is your car a ticket magnet? – Blog submitted by ticketbust.com, helping drivers contest and dismiss their traffic tickets.

Ever wonder if there is any correlation between the car you drive and how many tickets you get?

Well, according to a study by Quality Planning, a company that provides services to auto insurers, there could be.

The 2010 study, examined various vehicle types and calculated the tendency of each type to be ticketed based on the number of moving violations every 100,000 miles driven.

Topping the charts is the Mercedes Benz, SL-Class, with the Toyota Camry–Solara close behind.

Lower on the chart, but still making the cut is the VW GTI. Somewhere in between is the Hummer, Scion Hatchback, and Acura Integra. – Blog submitted by ticketbust.com, helping drivers contest and dismiss their traffic tickets.
